Sea, trails and hamlets
The Spiaggia Centrale, dark sand mixed with fine pebbles, is about 400 metres long: the beaches of Sori are described in the dedicated guide. When the sea is rough, stay away from the rocks at Capo Pino. Above the town, the trails up to the hamlets of Sant’Apollinare and Capreno, towards the Redentore and Monte Cornua, are nicest in spring and autumn: in summer set off early, and after rain wait for the ground to dry.
In Liguria, alerts for rain and thunderstorms are issued by ARPAL, with three levels: yellow, orange and red alerts. Check the level on the official Allerta Liguria website (in Italian) before setting off on hikes or boat trips.
When to go to Sori
For the sea, go from June to September: in 2026 the Spiaggia Centrale has a Blue Flag. July and August are the busiest months, and from 12 to 15 August there is the feast of Nostra Signora delle Grazie. For the trails choose spring or autumn; if the weather turns, Genoa is 24–30 minutes away by train.
