Castello d’Albertis overlooks the city from a hill in the Castelletto neighborhood, a fifteen-minute walk from the Old Port. It is a very unique historic residence in Genoa that blends architectural styles from very different eras.
This building was owned by Captain Enrico Alberto D’Albertis and reflects his eclectic personality.
It is a Neo-Gothic residence built in the 19th century on the site of 16th-century fortifications and embellished with decorative elements that evoke travels to exotic lands and a colonial atmosphere.
Today, the castle serves as a venue for events and conferences, as well as home to two museums: the Museum of World Cultures and the Museum of World Music.
You can admire the collection assembled by the captain during his voyages at sea, which was later expanded with donations from Africa, the Americas, and Oceania.
