Zuccarello is a medieval village on the floor of the Neva valley, inland from Albenga, at about 115 m. There are no official averages for Zuccarello: the table starts from the Savona figures, about 30 km away, and takes off about 1 °C for the altitude, so it is an estimate, and there is no sea-temperature column. The rainy days are those of Savona. On the valley floor the nights are usually cooler than on the coast. For the weather at the seaside, see the Savona weather page or the beach at Ceriale.

Monthly averages for Savona (air temperatures 1991–2012). Source: climieviaggi.it. For Zuccarello, at about 115 m above sea level, the temperatures are an estimate: they are the Savona figures, on the coast about 30 km away, with 0.6 °C less for every 100 m of altitude; the rainy days are those of Savona. Treat them as a guide: in the valleys nights are usually cooler and the gap between day and night wider.
The Neva stream runs at the foot of the village, below the medieval humpback bridge: after heavy rain keep away from the bank, because the water can rise quickly. From the castle the Sentiero di Ilaria sets off towards Castelvecchio di Rocca Barbena, about 3 km among holm oaks, downy oaks, chestnuts and olive trees: after rain the ground turns muddy and slippery, so it is better to wait a few dry days and wear shoes with a good sole. For the route and the story read Ilaria Del Carretto and Zuccarello. The Valle Auzza loop with Poggio Grande is rated EE, with few waymarks: in rain or on wet ground it is not for everyone.
On rainy days you can walk under the low arcades of via Armando Tornatore, the village’s only street, and look at the gates, towers and lanes up close. The parish church of San Bartolomeo, the Palazzo Marchionale and the chapels are seen from outside: opening hours are not confirmed, so don’t take for granted that you can go in. The Teatro Quinzio Delfino hosts concerts and shows on dates to be checked. There are few places to eat in via Tornatore: book at weekends. If the weather turns and you want the sea, the coast is 12–13 km away: Albenga has an old town you can wander even under a grey sky.
The best months are April to June and September–October, with clear air and trails you can walk; on the valley floor in winter the sun arrives later. On 24 August comes the feast of San Bartolomeo, with a procession and a band concert; in July there is usually the re-enactment linked to Ilaria (2026 dates not confirmed ⚠️); in October the Pumpkin Festival (in 2025 it was on Sunday 12 October, the 2026 date is not confirmed ⚠️). Warnings for rain and storms are issued by ARPAL: check them on the official Allerta Liguria website (in Italian) before driving up the valley or setting out on a trail.
