Sea, seafront and cycle path

The sea at Ospedaletti is a sheltered bay with gravel and pebble beaches, both free and run by beach clubs: to find out which stretches are open, ask the tourist office. In 2026 the town has no Blue Flag, but the sea is still fine for swimming. The seafront is flat and car-free, and it is the town stretch of the cycle path from Ospedaletti: in strong wind or rain put the ride off and check the forecast above. Night closing times for the Capo Nero tunnel are not confirmed, so don’t count on the tunnel after sunset.

When to go to Ospedaletti

For the sea, go from June to September; in July and August the water is warmest. For the cycle path towards Sanremo and for walking along the main street, choose spring or autumn. In June there are the feasts of Sant’Erasmo and San Giovanni (on the 24th), in early August the Sagra du Pignurin pan e vin, and at the end of October Halloween. If it rains, there is Casa e Collezione Laura (FAI), visited only on a guided tour with a booking.
