The beaches of Celle Ligure are fine sand, with a gently shelving seabed and the village’s painted houses right behind. The coastline runs from the old centre to the long beach of Celle Piani and the coves towards Albisola, and in 2026 the town kept its Blue Flag. Here is what each beach is like, how to reach it and where to find a free spot.

The village beach
SandBeach clubs
This is the beach in front of the old centre, with the fishermen’s painted facades a few metres from the sand and boats pulled up on the shore. You reach it from Lungomare Colombo, and it is almost entirely taken up by beach clubs with umbrellas, sunbeds and showers. It is the most convenient if you stay in the centre or arrive by train: the station is a few minutes’ walk away.
Celle Piani
Beach clubsFamily friendly
East of the centre, past the seafront promenade, lies the widest beach in town. Access is from Lungomare della Crocetta, and this is where most beach clubs are, with facilities, play areas, beach sports and entertainment by day and evening. Behind it are hotels, villas and holiday residences: it is the area families choose for a week by the sea.
The free beach at Celle Piani
Free beach
At the eastern end of Celle Piani, before the artificial breakwater that closes the beach, there is a stretch of free beach. This is where you can lay down your towel without renting an umbrella. In summer it fills up early: arrive by nine in the morning, especially at weekends.
Spiaggia della Torre
SandBeach clubs
Between Celle and Albisola Superiore, the Spiaggia della Torre is the pick for anyone after a less built-up corner. It is sheltered by a rocky cliff, with sand and clear water, and is partly free and partly run by a beach club. You walk down from the Via Aurelia along a path of about 200 metres or a stairway: wear proper shoes and travel light.
Blue Flag 2026
In 2026 Celle Ligure is one of fifteen towns in the province of Savona awarded the Blue Flag, the international label that assesses water quality, services and environmental management. The awarded beaches are Ponente and Levante. The small marina of Cala Cravieu also holds a Blue Flag for tourist harbours.
Practical tips
When to go: June and September offer warm water and fewer people; for July and August book your umbrella in advance.
Parking: along the seafront parking is in paid blue bays; in summer the train is easier, as the station is close to the beaches.
Children: the shallow water at the village beach and Celle Piani suits small children best.
Shade: in the hottest hours head up to Pineta Bottini, the park above town, with the free panoramic lift on Via Cassisi.
Evening walk: at sunset, walk the one-kilometre seafront from the village to Celle Piani and carry on along the short old-railway stretch towards Varazze.
Other beaches nearby
For a change of scene, the beaches of Albisola and Varazze are a few kilometres away, all with the 2026 Blue Flag. Further west, past Savona, you will find the island of Bergeggi and the bay of Noli. For everything else on the village, trails and transport, see our guide to Celle Ligure.
