Badalucco’s climate month by month

Badalucco is a stone village on the Argentina stream, inland from Imperia, about 16 km from Sanremo. There are no official averages for Badalucco: the table starts from the Sanremo figures and takes off about 1 °C for the altitude, so it is an estimate, and there is no sea-temperature column. Evenings are a little cooler than on the coast. For the weather at the seaside, see the Sanremo weather page or the beach at Arma di Taggia.

Monthly averages for Sanremo (air temperatures 2004–2020). Source: climieviaggi.it. For Badalucco, at about 179 m above sea level, the temperatures are an estimate: they are the Sanremo figures, on the coast about 16 km away, with 0.6 °C less for every 100 m of altitude; the rainy days are those of Sanremo. Treat them as a guide: in the valleys nights are usually cooler and the gap between day and night wider.

Stream, trails and after the rain

The Argentina stream runs a few steps from the village and is the place to cool off in summer, but it has no official bathing classification and the water level drops a lot from June. After heavy rain never go into the water: the stream can swell quickly. Trails also start from the village, such as the one to the Madonna della Neve on Monte Carmo: pick clear days and, after rain, wait for the ground to dry.

If it rains in Badalucco

On rainy days you can visit the village churches, look at the ceramics and murals under the arcades and in the lanes, and stop at the Badalucco Art Gallery in the town hall: opening times are not confirmed, so ask the tourist office in piazza Duomo. Some olive mills can be visited by appointment. The story of the village’s signature dish is in our guide to the stockfish of Badalucco.

When to go to Badalucco

The best months are spring and autumn, with clear air and walkable trails. Summer is hot, but the stream cools you down. On 23 April there is the feast of Saint George, the village’s patron; at Easter people play “scotezzo”, the hard-boiled egg contest; the third weekend of September brings back the Stockfish Festival (in 2026 it was on 19 and 20 September); in October the olive harvest takes place. Alerts for rain and thunderstorms are issued by ARPAL: check them on the official Allerta Liguria website (in Italian) before driving up the valley or setting off on a trail.
