Sea, coves and trails
The beaches of Framura are coves of rocks and pebbles at the foot of the coast, reached mainly from the station and the cycle path. With the libeccio (south-west wind) and storm surges the water rises quickly over the rocks: on those days, don’t go into the water. The hamlets are linked by trails and stone steps: they become slippery in the rain, and in summer it’s best to walk early in the morning. The tunnel road towards Deiva Marina and Moneglia has been closed since 2025.
In Liguria, alerts for rain and thunderstorms are issued by ARPAL, with three levels: yellow, orange and red alerts. Check the level on the official Allerta Liguria website (in Italian) before setting off on hikes or boat trips.
When to go to Framura
For the sea, go from June to September; for the trails between the hamlets and the cycle path towards Bonassola and Levanto, choose April, May, September or October. In August there is the festival at the little harbour, in November San Martino.
