Where to park in Savona: barrier car parks, blue lines, TPL Linea rates and parking for Costa cruises at the Palacrociere terminal.
Parking in Savona is easy once you pick the right spot. For the old town, the Priamar Fortress and the Torretta, use one of the four barrier car parks run by TPL Linea (Torre Porto, Priamar–Corso Mazzini, Piazza del Popolo, Via Piave); the daily maximum is 10 euros. If you are sailing from the Palacrociere you have two options: the paid car park inside the terminal area, booked in advance, or the free Le Officine car park with a paid shuttle, valid only for selected departures. Data read on official websites on 25 October 2026.

Since 2025 paid parking in the city has been run by TPL Linea, which manages 1,662 spaces across barrier car parks, meters and permits. Visitors mainly need the four barrier car parks, all close to the old town. The rates below are those published by TPL Linea: check again before you go, as the service is new.
| Car park | Where | Rate (TPL Linea) |
|---|---|---|
| Torre Porto | Near the marina and the old town | Free for 15 minutes; 0.30 € per 15 minutes from 8 am to 8 pm; maximum 10 € a day; public holidays maximum 5 € |
| Priamar–Corso Mazzini | At the foot of the Priamar Fortress | 0.30 € per 15 minutes from 8 am to 8 pm; maximum 10 € a day; night 0.15 € per 15 minutes, maximum 3 € |
| Piazza del Popolo | In the old town, near the Cathedral and Piazza Mameli | Free for 30 minutes; 0.50 € up to one hour, then 1 € an hour; maximum 10 €; public holidays free; different rate on Mondays (market day) |
| Via Piave | Near the centre, entrance also from via Trincee | Free for 15 minutes from 8 am to 8 pm; 0.30 € per 15 minutes; maximum 10 €; free at night and on public holidays |
The city warns of very limited space in Piazza del Popolo on Mondays, market day: that day aim for Torre Porto or the Priamar. The Arsenale car park in the marina is also open to the public but privately run.
Blue-line spaces are paid at the meters Monday to Saturday, 8 am–12.30 pm and 2.30–8 pm, at 1.60 euros an hour. The minimum stay is 15 minutes, the maximum 2 hours. You can also pay with EasyPark and the Telepass app. Residents park free from 8 to 9 am and 7 to 8 pm. Meters are in Piazza Saffi, via Brignoni, Piazza Mameli and via Montenotte, among others.
In many central streets a one-hour parking disc applies (2,273 spaces). The city also lists about 1,060 spaces in streets with free parking, including calata Sbarbaro, via Gramsci, via Mentana and piazza Pancaldo. Rules change from street to street: read the signs. The full list is on the city’s parking page.

The Palacrociere, in the Darsena nuova, is Costa Cruises’ terminal. If you arrive by car you have two options. The first is Le Officine, the shopping-centre car park linked to the terminal: it is free, but only active for selected departures from 20 September to 1 November 2026, and booking is compulsory through the form on the terminal’s website. A TPL shuttle runs from the car park (about 3.5 km, 10 minutes): 20 euros return for adults, 10 for children aged 3 to 13, free under 3. The car park is unattended and there is no luggage porterage. Full details are on the Le Officine parking page.
The second is the car park inside the Palacrociere area, run by the ParkingSavona consortium: you book online, hand the car to the staff in front of the terminal and no shuttle is needed. It also accepts motorhomes, cars with trailers or caravans, and minibuses. Daily rates cannot be read on the site without filling in the booking: see ParkingSavona. For other departures this is the route the terminal points to.
If you only have a port call, read Savona on a cruise stop; for berths and ferries, the port of Savona guide.
We did not find a municipal motorhome area with confirmed rates. For cruises ParkingSavona accepts motorhomes; for the city’s barrier car parks and maximum vehicle height, ask TPL Linea (800 808 712).
Savona is on the Genoa–Ventimiglia line: for a day in the city the train avoids the parking problem. If you leave the car to continue by train, pick a barrier car park (maximum 10 euros a day) and check the distance from the station on the map, as we have not verified it.
The old town has a limited traffic zone monitored by cameras. We found no municipal source for hours and gates: leave the car in a car park and walk, or ask your hotel how to register a plate.
From Savona you can reach Albissola, Celle Ligure, Bergeggi, Noli and Varazze by train or car, or, at a slower pace, Spotorno.
