Sanremo's climate month by month
The Maritime Alps shelter Sanremo from the cold northern winds: that is why winter is so mild, and why as early as the 19th century the town was a health resort where European aristocrats spent the winter. The Russian Empress Maria Alexandrovna spent the winter of 1874–75 here and donated the palm trees of the seafront promenade that now bears her name. It rains little: July has 2 rainy days on average, and even November, the wettest month, has about 8.
