The Civic Museum of Sanremo occupies the second floor of Palazzo Borea d’Olmo, the noble palace on via Matteotti. It holds archaeological finds from the local area, from the Palaeolithic to Roman times, a picture gallery with works from the 17th century onwards and a collection of Garibaldi memorabilia.

The archaeology section tells the story of human settlement around Sanremo from prehistory, with finds from the caves of western Liguria, to Roman times, when the villa Matutiana stood here.
The picture gallery displays paintings from the 17th century onwards, including works by Bernardo Strozzi and Ligurian artists.
One section is devoted to the Risorgimento and Giuseppe Garibaldi, with documents and objects from the period.
Palazzo Borea d’Olmo is one of the most important noble palaces in Sanremo, overlooking the main shopping street a short walk from the Ariston Theatre. A Museum of Italian Song is planned in the same building.
Civic Museum of Sanremo is in Sanremo (Riviera di Ponente, Riviera dei Fiori).

Tuesday to Saturday, from 8.30am to 6.30pm, with last entry at 6pm. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
€5 full price and €3 reduced. It is free for children under 6 and for people with disabilities.
