Sea, storm surges and the cycle path

In summer the sea in Bonassola bay is often calm; with the libeccio (south-west wind) and the storm surges of autumn and winter the sea rises in the bay, and swimming is not advisable. The Levanto–Bonassola–Framura cycle path runs mostly through the tunnels of the old railway: it is cool in summer and can be used even on days of light rain, but it may be closed during weather alerts and roadworks. Check the Comune’s notices before setting off.
