Deiva Marina is one of the places in Liguria with the most campsites: the narrow, green, sheltered valley behind the town and the rocky coast towards Framura suit pitches, bungalows and mobile homes. People choose Deiva for a tent or motorhome holiday for three reasons: the long beach, prices below the Cinque Terre and a train that gets you to Monterosso in about a quarter of an hour. Here is how to find your way around.

Valley or seaside campsite?

This is the main choice. Campsites in the valley sit in the shade of pines and acacias along the stream, are cooler on August nights and usually quieter. The downside: to reach the beach or station you walk, drive or use the shuttle that some sites run for guests in summer.

Campsites above the coast, towards Framura, have sea views and often access to rocks and coves, but terraced pitches, more sun and some climbing on foot. They suit people who like swimming off the rocks and do not need sand under the umbrella.

Two names come up in several sources: Camping La Sfinge, in the valley about 3 km from the sea, with a shuttle to town and a climbing crag a few minutes away; and Villaggio Camping Valdeiva, also in the valley, with a swimming pool. For other sites, check facilities, opening dates and recent reviews directly.

What to check before booking

  • Shuttle: ask whether there is one, in which months and at what times. Without it, the walk back from the beach to the valley can feel long.
  • Distance to the station: if you plan to visit the Cinque Terre every day, factor in the time to reach the train.
  • Pitches: on the coast they are often small and terraced; with a large motorhome or caravan, check sizes and access.
  • Season: many campsites open in spring and close in autumn.
  • Pets: rules vary from site to site.
  • Booking: for July, August and spring holiday weekends book well ahead; bungalows go first.

Deiva Marina by motorhome

La baia di Deiva Marina vista dall'alto

Getting here by motorhome is easy from the A12 motorway, Deiva Marina exit, followed by about 9 km of hill road into town. Avoid the Via Aurelia over the Bracco Pass if you dislike hairpins, and forget the old tunnel road to Moneglia: it has been closed since 2025 and will not reopen before 2027.

Besides the campsites there is a paid municipal motorhome area; prices and rules change, so check on arrival. In summer the town is full and parking near the sea runs out early, so a campsite is the most relaxed option. Wild camping is not allowed everywhere: check the local rules before stopping overnight outside authorised areas.

From the campsite to the Cinque Terre

Regional trains from Deiva station run to Levanto and the Cinque Terre: Monterosso is 15–20 minutes away. As far as Levanto you pay a normal regional fare; from Levanto to La Spezia the Cinque Terre fare and the Cinque Terre Card Treno apply. In summer there is also the Navigazione Golfo dei Poeti boat: in 2026 it left Deiva pier at 9:30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, stopped in the villages and at Portovenere, and returned at 18:20.

If you like walking, you can set off from the campsite on the Sentiero Verde Azzurro to Framura (2–3 hours) or Moneglia (2–3 hours) and come back by train.

If Deiva is full, look east: Levanto has campsites close to the sea and to the trailhead for Monterosso, and it is the terminus of the Cinque Terre trains. The Moneglia area also has coastal campsites, but with the tunnels closed it is linked to Deiva only by motorway, the Via Aurelia or train.
