What data we collect

  • Browsing data. The server automatically logs IP address, date and time, the page requested and browser type. We need this to run the site and protect it from abuse; we do not use it to identify you.
  • Statistics, only with your consent. If you accept statistics cookies, Google Analytics collects pages viewed, referrer and device type in aggregate. If you refuse, Google Analytics is not loaded.
  • Data you send us. If you email us, we process your address and message only to reply.

The site has no advertising, does no profiling and sells no data to anyone.

Purposes and legal basis

  • Running and securing the site: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Statistics with Google Analytics: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time from “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page.
  • Replying to emails: your request and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).

Who processes data on our behalf

  • Hostinger International Ltd. hosts the site on servers in Germany (European Union).
  • Google Ireland Ltd. provides Google Analytics, only if you consent. Google may transfer data to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google is certified. Google Analytics 4 does not log IP addresses. We keep Google Analytics data for 14 months. Google Privacy Policy.

Weather forecasts come from MET Norway and are requested by our server, not by your browser: none of your data reaches MET Norway.
