At the ticket desk a single ticket costs \u20ac34, compared with \u20ac26 online for a fixed date.<\/p>\n<h2>Which ticket to choose<\/h2>\n<p>The official site sells two types. The <strong>Fixed Date<\/strong> ticket is the cheapest, but the day and time slot are binding and cannot be changed. The <strong>Open Flexi<\/strong> ticket costs \u20ac38, is valid for a year and lets you change date and time once, up to 2 hours before entry.<\/p>\n<p>If your dates are certain, go for the fixed date. It normally opens at 9 or 10am and closes between 7:30 and 8pm; in some periods, such as the Genoa Boat Show, it stays open until 10pm. You can download the current map from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acquariodigenova.it\/en\/route-map\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aquarium&#8217;s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Tropical Seas<\/h3>\n<p>Coral reefs with clownfish, zebra sharks and the sawfish: the most colourful part of the visit and the one kids love most.<\/p>\n<h3>Temperate Seas<\/h3>\n<p>Moray eels, sharks and jellyfish, including the tiny four-leaf clover jellyfish. This is also home to the bottlenose dolphins.<\/p>\n<h3>Cold Seas<\/h3>\n<p>Harbour seals and gentoo and Magellanic penguins, in tanks recreating the Arctic and Antarctic.<\/p>\n<h3>Tropical Forests<\/h3>\n<p>Iguanas, boas and the golden mantella, a tiny orange frog, in the Biodiversity Pavilion.<\/p>\n<h3>Fresh Waters<\/h3>\n<p>Antillean manatees, dwarf caimans and piranhas. There are no shows of any kind at the aquarium, so there is no show time to look for.<\/p>\n<p>To see them up close you can book &#8220;Face to face with the dolphins&#8221;, one of the guided experiences run by the staff, along with the penguin encounter, the behind-the-scenes tour and the &#8220;Night with the sharks&#8221;. They are held in Italian only.<\/p>\n<h2>Tips for your visit<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>When to go:<\/strong> weekends, bank holidays and summer are busiest; weekdays are calmer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>How much time:<\/strong> allow two and a half hours, three with small children. There is no time limit, but you cannot leave and re-enter.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cloakroom:<\/strong> a staffed cloakroom costs \u20ac3 per item, handy if you arrive with a backpack or suitcase.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Food:<\/strong> no eating along the route, but there are two caf\u00e9s halfway through.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Photos:<\/strong> allowed, but no flash.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dogs:<\/strong> not allowed, except guide dogs. Or take the metro towards Brignole and get off at San Giorgio. From Brignole station, take bus 13 or the metro.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By bus:<\/strong> lines 1 (from the west) and 13 (from the east) terminate in front of the aquarium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By car:<\/strong> leave the motorway at Genova Ovest and follow Via Milano and Via Gramsci.
