Visitors mainly need the four barrier car parks, all close to the old town. The Arsenale car park in the marina is also open to the public but privately run.<\/p>\n<h2>Blue lines, meters and free streets<\/h2>\n<p>Blue-line spaces are paid at the meters Monday to Saturday, 8 am\u201312.30 pm and 2.30\u20138 pm, at 1.60 euros an hour. The minimum stay is 15 minutes, the maximum 2 hours. You can also pay with EasyPark and the Telepass app. Residents park free from 8 to 9 am and 7 to 8 pm. Meters are in Piazza Saffi, via Brignoni, Piazza Mameli and via Montenotte, among others.<\/p>\n<p>In many central streets a one-hour parking disc applies (2,273 spaces). The city also lists about 1,060 spaces in streets with free parking, including calata Sbarbaro, via Gramsci, via Mentana and piazza Pancaldo. Rules change from street to street: read the signs. If you arrive by car you have two options. The first is <strong>Le Officine<\/strong>, the shopping-centre car park linked to the terminal: it is free, but only active for selected departures from 20 September to 1 November 2026, and booking is compulsory through the form on the terminal&#8217;s website. A TPL shuttle runs from the car park (about 3.5 km, 10 minutes): 20 euros return for adults, 10 for children aged 3 to 13, free under 3. The car park is unattended and there is no luggage porterage. Full details are on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palacrocieresavona.it\/parking-le-officine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Le Officine parking page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The second is the <strong>car park inside the Palacrociere area<\/strong>, run by the ParkingSavona consortium: you book online, hand the car to the staff in front of the terminal and no shuttle is needed. It also accepts motorhomes, cars with trailers or caravans, and minibuses. Daily rates cannot be read on the site without filling in the booking: see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parkingsavona.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ParkingSavona<\/a>. For other departures this is the route the terminal points to.<\/p>\n<p>If you only have a port call, read <a href=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/en\/riviera-di-ponente\/savona\/cruise-stop\/\">Savona on a cruise stop<\/a>; for berths and ferries, the port of Savona guide.<\/p>\n<h2>Motorhomes<\/h2>\n<p>We did not find a municipal motorhome area with confirmed rates. For cruises ParkingSavona accepts motorhomes; for the city&#8217;s barrier car parks and maximum vehicle height, ask TPL Linea (800 808 712).<\/p>\n<h2>Arriving by train<\/h2>\n<p>Savona is on the Genoa\u2013Ventimiglia line: for a day in the city the train avoids the parking problem. If you leave the car to continue by train, pick a barrier car park (maximum 10 euros a day) and check the distance from the station on the map, as we have not verified it.<\/p>\n<h2>Limited traffic zone<\/h2>\n<p>The old town has a limited traffic zone monitored by cameras. We found no municipal source for hours and gates: leave the car in a car park and walk, or ask your hotel how to register a plate.<\/p>\n<p>From Savona you can reach <a href=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/en\/riviera-di-ponente\/albissola\/\">Albissola<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/en\/riviera-di-ponente\/celle-ligure\/\">Celle Ligure<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/en\/riviera-di-ponente\/bergeggi\/\">Bergeggi<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/en\/riviera-di-ponente\/noli\/\">Noli<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/en\/riviera-di-ponente\/varazze\/\">Varazze<\/a> by train or car, or, at a slower pace, <a href=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/en\/riviera-di-ponente\/spotorno\/\">Spotorno<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n<details class=\"ir-faq\">\n<summary>Where should I park to visit the centre of Savona?<\/summary>\n<p>In one of the TPL Linea barrier car parks: Torre Porto for the Torretta and the old harbour, Priamar\u2013Corso Mazzini for the fortress, Piazza del Popolo for the Cathedral.
