In 2026 both cost \u20ac3 an hour and \u20ac30 for 24 hours, and in summer they fill up early. The old village is closed to traffic and you cannot drive from one side of town to the other, so pick your car park before you head down. For a day trip it is often easier to leave the car in Levanto or La Spezia and arrive by train.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fegina car park:<\/strong> 270 spaces, close to the station and the beaches<\/li>\n<li><strong>Loreto car park:<\/strong> 160 spaces, at the entrance to the old town<\/li>\n<li><strong>2026 rates:<\/strong> \u20ac3 an hour; \u20ac30 for 24 hours; \u20ac12 a day from day 3, \u20ac6 from day 8<\/li>\n<li><strong>Overnight:<\/strong> Fegina \u20ac0.50 an hour from 10pm to 8am; Loreto \u20ac3 an hour around the clock<\/li>\n<li><strong>Valid:<\/strong> 26 March to 1 November 2026<\/li>\n<li><strong>Without a car:<\/strong> train from Levanto or La Spezia; the station is in Fegina<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Fegina or Loreto: which car park?<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" width=\"680\" height=\"358\" src=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/fegina-monterosso.webp\" class=\"wp-image-32603\" alt=\"Statue and tower on the Monterosso al Mare headland\" decoding=\"async\" srcset=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/fegina-monterosso.webp 680w, https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/fegina-monterosso-300x158.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Fegina<\/strong> is the newer part of town, with the train station and the longest beaches; the <strong>old village<\/strong> lies beyond the Torre Aurora headland. There is one public car park on each side.<\/p>\n<h3>Fegina car park<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Spaces:<\/strong> 270, including 5 for disabled drivers<\/li>\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> a short walk from the Fegina beaches and the station<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bonus:<\/strong> show your parking ticket and the public toilets are free<\/li>\n<li><strong>Best for:<\/strong> a beach day, catching the train, staying in Fegina<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The largest and the most convenient for the sea; the old village is about ten minutes&#8217; walk along the seafront. Thanks to the night rate it is also the cheapest if you stay overnight.<\/p>\n<h3>Loreto car park<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Spaces:<\/strong> 160, including 3 for disabled drivers<\/li>\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> Loreto, above the historic centre<\/li>\n<li><strong>Best for:<\/strong> staying in the old village or sightseeing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From here you walk down the lanes to the church of San Giovanni Battista and the small harbour. The rate is the same day and night, so for longer stays buy the 24-hour ticket.<\/p>\n<p>Behind Fegina there is also the <strong>Retro Park<\/strong>, reserved for holders of a local police permit: it is not for visitors.<\/p>\n<h2>Parking rates in 2026<\/h2>\n<p>The rates were approved by the town council on 20 November 2025 and apply <strong>from 26 March to 1 November 2026<\/strong>. The road is narrow and winding.<\/p>\n<p>Lower down it splits: one branch goes to Fegina, the other runs past Soviore to Loreto. The old village is closed to traffic and you cannot drive through town, so if you take the wrong branch you have to drive back up. Staying in the historic centre? Ask your host before arrival where to park and how to bring your luggage.<\/p>\n<h2>When the car parks fill up<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/monterosso-mare-1024x576.webp\" class=\"wp-image-33807\" alt=\"Crowded beach at Monterosso al Mare\" decoding=\"async\" srcset=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/monterosso-mare-1024x576.webp 1024w, https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/monterosso-mare-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/monterosso-mare-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/monterosso-mare.webp 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>From June to September, at weekends and on Italian public holidays, spaces run out by mid-morning: arrive at midday and you will often find the &#8220;full&#8221; sign and have to turn back.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Arrive early:<\/strong> before 9am in high season; on sunny days Fegina fills first. Check the <a href=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/en\/cinque-terre\/monterosso\/weather\/\">Monterosso weather<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Have a plan B:<\/strong> Levanto is a few minutes away by train.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Motorhomes and motorbikes<\/h2>\n<p>The town&#8217;s price list has no motorhome rates, and the road is not suited to large vehicles. Above the village, at Il Poggio, there is a small private stopover with a few serviced pitches: book ahead and ask the operator about facilities, prices and links to the village. Otherwise stop in Levanto or La Spezia and continue by train. From 14 March to 1 November 2026 regional trains between Levanto and La Spezia run on the Cinque Terre fare: \u20ac5 to \u20ac10 per journey depending on distance, or included in the Cinque Terre Train Card. The Cinque Terre Express adds 46 extra trains a day. Park near the central station and stay out of the ZTL.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Monterosso station is in Fegina, a stone&#8217;s throw from the <a href=\"https:\/\/italian-riviera.com\/en\/cinque-terre\/monterosso\/beaches\/\">Monterosso beaches<\/a>. In town you walk everywhere; for Soviore there are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atcesercizio.it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATC<\/a> buses, which accept the Cinque Terre Card.
